Membership for foreigners
Specialklubben för Västgötaspets, SKV, is the club for those who are interested in the breed Västgötaspets (Swedish Vallhund – Länsigöötanmaanpystykorvat – Västgøtaspids – Spitz des Visigoths).
The club was established in 1976, back then called Västgötaspetsringen (Västgötaspets Circle). In 1986 the club became official and changed its name to Specialklubben för Västgötaspets. The club is attached to The Swedish Kennel Club, SKK.
Since Västgötaspets is a Swedish breed, the Swedish club has the primary responsibility for the breed.
As a member of SKV you get access to all the club activities in Sweden.
You will be able to enter your dog in the official shows and obedience tests arranged by the club and you may participate in our training camps.
You are entitled to enter a herding test and/or exterior descriptions in Sweden free of charge.
The club magazine (in Swedish) will arrive in your post box 4 times a year and it will keep you updated on what’s happening within the breed.
The breeding counsil will give advice and directions for free in every question concerning breeding.

Breeders are allowed to use our puppy referral, via phone, website and club magazine.

The membership runs 12 months from the payment date.
Our member’s database is handled by The Swedish Kennel Club, SKK, which sends out invoices and receives payment.
You will get a membership card.

Breeders can give a membership for the puppy buyer’s first year. This is necessary to be allowed to put puppy ads on the website.
”Puppy membership” is 125 SEK for foreign members, 100 SEK for Swedish members.
How to pay for ”puppy membership”:
Send an e-mail to our treasurer at: kassor@vastgotaspets.se containing:
Buyer’s name, address, phone number and e-mail address.
The treasurer will report this info to SKK.
Questions about ”puppy membership” will be answered by the treasurer, Lill Johansson.
